ABOUT ME

Melissa Krimsky is a self taught freelance special effects makeup artist originally from the San Francisco bay area where she got her start working on student films and as a scareactor at Six Flags' Fright Fest at age fifteen. Horror and all things Halloween have been a passion of hers since she was a kid and learned how to do makeup by watching horror films and TV shows and reading about makeup dating back to the birth of horror films; Frankenstein, The Mummy, Night of the Living Dead, The Exorcist, Jaws, Pyscho and A Nightmare on Elm Street. She credits the episode of The Twilight Zone "Eye of the Beholder" for her initial interest and love of effects makeup.

 

Melissa is now living in Los Angeles and has experience in foam latex appliances, pros-aide transfers, airbrushing, molding and mask making using silicone as well as latex, plaster, hair punching and silicone mask repair, squibs and face painting, she is also available for basic hair as well as tattoo cover ups, beauty and natural makeup on males and females. Along with her extensive experience working as an FX artist, Melissa has also spent time working in prop shops.

Melissa has worked on indie and student films as well as feature films, seasonal theme park haunts, photoshoots, music videos and private events. 

*She is also available for various fx makeup applications on animals and uses all non toxic products to ensure their comfort and safety.*
